Arrival to Chile

Chile is a country well connected to the world. Most international airlines offer regular flights to the country via Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport (SCL), Santiago de Chile.

Arrival in Concepción

Domestic flights (Santiago-Concepción) arrive at the Carriel Sur airport, which is about 30 minutes from Concepción. The flight from Santiago takes about 1 hour.

Transportation from the airport

We recommend that you use authorized taxi services available at the airport or arrange transportation with your hotel.

VISA

Most countries in the Americas and the European Union do not require a tourist visa for stays of up to 90 days in Chile. However, it is advisable to check your specific situation when planning your trip.

Money Exchange

The official currency of Chile is the Chilean Peso (CLP). Its exchange rate against the US Dollar, Euro and other currencies fluctuates daily and is regulated by the Central Bank of Chile. Most commercial and service establishments accept major credit cards.

It is recommended to change money at banks or exchange offices. ATMs are also available for cash withdrawals and other banking transactions, allowing you to withdraw Chilean pesos or US dollars. Please note that the exchange rate at ATMs is usually higher. ATMs can be found in public buildings and businesses

Local climate

Concepción is located in the transition zone between the center and the south of the country. Concepción has a temperate maritime climate with a Mediterranean influence.

It should be noted that the Symposium will be held in the month of November (spring season), where daily temperatures rarely fall below 59°F or exceed 73.4°F.
